Leadership

Initially, during 2003, leadership of the pensioner group was somewhat fragmented as individuals in different retiree communities met on a by-location basis as this was the easiest means of sharing concerns and exchanging views. This rapidly evolved into an inter-location process as various individuals took the initiative to widen the dialogue.

While local individuals continued to be active within their communities, an adhoc team evolved comprised of two representatives from the Kingston community and four from the Toronto/Oakville area. These individuals quickly developed a communications and contact process with each other via telephone contact, e-mail and periodic face to face meetings.

They launched an initial funding campaign, undertook to issue the periodic Communiqués, and initiated several consultations with outside agencies such as the Financial Services Commission of Ontario, and legal counsel.

We are indebted to the vision and foresight of the original founders of DIPAC; Don Ivision, Jerry Fox, Jack Walsh, Jack Hills, Neil Quigley and Rolando Cecchini. The strong foundation which they established continues forward as we have been fortunate in recruiting highly qualified new Board members.

The current Board members are:

Norm Leblanc - Chair
Seymour Trachimovsky - Secretary
Janice Daly - Treasurer
Bill Byker
Joe Hendriks
Peter Kraus
Tony Pompeo
Jack Smith
Jack Hills - Director Emeritus
